This score is slightly below average compared to other insurers that Jerry rates and takes into account the insurer\u2019s pricing, industry ratings, the company\u2019s financial strength, customer ratings and national complaint data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National General, also called \u201cNatGen,\u201d provides somewhat expensive car insurance to those with less-than-perfect driving records. The company can file <a href=\"\/car-insurance\/sr-22-insurance\/\" data-type=\"car-insurance\" data-id=\"58404\">SR-22s<\/a> and FR-44s on behalf of drivers who need them, according to a customer service representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Industry studies and ratings on NatGen are less than stellar: The insurer has many more consumer complaints than its competitors and receives low consumer satisfaction scores from more than one industry report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers can get insurance from National General online, over the phone or from an independent agent. This insurer is licensed to sell insurance in all 50 states and Washington, D.C, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
