Where do I find the passkey to connect a Bluetooth device to my BMW?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong> You can find your BMW\u2019s default Bluetooth passkey in the owner\u2019s manual or in your settings menu within iDrive. But if you don\u2019t have access to those two options\u2014or you still can\u2019t find the code in them\u2014there is another option for you: your trunk or rear of your vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your BMW\u2019s Bluetooth module is located inside your trunk. The default passcode will be printed on a label on the module. You can find your module via the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open your vehicle&#8217;s trunk or rear door.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look at the interior trim\u2014one side should have a removable panel covering the amplifier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the panel and locate the Bluetooth module.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The module will have a sticker on it. Look for the letters PK. Next to this will be a four-digit code. This is your passkey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-connect-bmw-bluetooth\">How do I connect my BMW to Bluetooth?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you find your passkey, you may still be unsure how to connect to the car\u2019s Bluetooth. You can do so by following these easy steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start your car and make sure both your car and your phone have Bluetooth turned on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From your iDrive menu select \u201cCommunication,\u201d then \u201cManage mobile devices,\u201d then \u201cConnect new device.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the next screen, choose the device you want to connect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Bluetooth name for your BMW will display on the iDrive screen. Find that name on your phone\u2019s available devices and connect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A number will display on both your iDrive and phone screen. Check to see that the numbers match. Should this happen, there is a simple fix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From your iDrive menu select \u201cCommunication,\u201d then \u201cManage mobile devices.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll through the list of available devices, one of which should be your phone, and make sure all options are checked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect and you are good to go.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your phone still won\u2019t connect, try deleting the device from your car\u2019s iDrive system and start the connection process again.
