How do you open the gas tank on a Jaguar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong> Generally, you can open the fuel filler flap in most modern Jaguars by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press and release the back of the fuel filler flap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pull the flap open. A label inside will show the correct fuel type for your vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twist the cap counter-clockwise (to the left) to open it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These instructions are valid for these models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2019 XJ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2021 F-Type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2024 E-Pace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2023 F-Pace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2019 XE<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2023 XF<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A key difference is where you would store the gas filler cap. This varies between models\u2014for example, on the 2021 F-Type, you\u2019d store the cap on the lip provided on the top of the hinge arm. On the 2024 F-Pace, however, you\u2019d use a securing clip on the flap to store the gas cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-if-my-fuel-filler-flap-wont-unlatch\">What if my fuel filler flap won\u2019t unlatch?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On some models, like the 2024 E-Pace, F-Pace, 2023 XF and 2019 XE you can manually release the fuel filler flap if it does not automatically unlatch. Here\u2019s how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use both hands to gently pull on the top and bottom of the flap. You may need to partially pry it open to get it loose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the flap is off, you&#8217;ll notice part of the tappet inside the flap mechanism and the other part still in the push-push mechanism on the vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To reattach the flap and reconnect the tappets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove the larger tappet from the push-push mechanism on the vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the flap, pull back the sealing sleeve to reveal the smaller tappet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Push the larger tappet into the smaller one to restore the push-push functionality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"jaguar-model-and-fuel-specs\">Jaguar model and fuel specs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have your fuel door open, it\u2019s important to know what type of fuel to put in the tank and how much you\u2019ll need.
