I wanted to refresh my memory on something first, though. How many vision zones are there around a car\u2014and what are they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong> Taking your road test is a big step towards receiving your driver&#8217;s license, congratulations. While you&#8217;re behind the wheel, you should be aware of six zones of vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"What-are-the-zones-of-vision-in-driving\">What are the zones of vision in driving?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The six vision zones in driving include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Front: <\/strong>The area visible through your windshield.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Left front:<\/strong> The area visible through your driver\u2019s side window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Right front: <\/strong>The area visible through your front passenger window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rear:<\/strong> The area visible from your rearview mirror (or back windshield).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Left rear:<\/strong> The area visible in your driver\u2019s side mirror, or by turning over your left shoulder to look out the rear driver\u2019s side window<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Right rear: <\/strong>The area visible in your passenger\u2019s side mirror, or by turning over your right shoulder to look out the rear passenger\u2019s side window<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To be a safe and defensive driver, you must always remain aware of all six zones. Pay attention to the other drivers around you and try to anticipate what they may or may not do next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Zone-status\">Zone status<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Open: <\/strong>You can clearly see the area and there are no vehicles in that zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Closed:<\/strong> A vehicle is in the zone or there is an obstruction that prevents you from seeing it clearly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Changing:<\/strong> This zone occurs when your situation is changing from open to closed.
